A Postcard From The Edge.

Dearest Readers;

I hope this message finds you in good time.

I pen this missive from deep beneath the earth, hunched over a fire in the acrid tunnels of Blight Town.

The Chaos Witch Quelaag's domain lies ahead of me, but my attempts to defeat her have so far been fruitless. My weapon is in danger of becoming permanently damaged, and my hope dwindles faster than my reserves of Estus.

I thought I was prepared for my trip into the bowels of Lordran, but in my haste to ring the second bell I did not realise that I had bought a smithbox from Andre, rather than the very similar repairbox which he also sells. I am clearly a massive knob, and should pay more attention to things.

There is but one light shining in the darkness: The master key I was given when my journey began. I have heard stories of this key opening a door in the Valley of the Drakes that will allow me passage back to Firelink Shrine via the ruins of New Londo - leaving me but a short distance from Andre the Blacksmith in the Undead Parish.

I cannot make the journey tonight, but tomorrow I plan on leaving the relative safety of this drain that I have made my home and bolting for the workshop of the Blacksmith.

Wish me luck, and Godspeed.

Haha. Oh yes, memories. Although you are much further than I was, and apparently not lost, so all is relatively well. You're actually making pretty fast progress all told.

Good luck on that wheel Dude, and even better luck with those cockheaded giant toxic barbarian things. Fuck those toxin guys. Fuck them so much.

I'm looking forward to the inevitable and presumably fairly soon account of your trip through Sen's Fortress. Just do me a favour - don't read about it. Put the wiki down, and walk away.

This is about my enjoyment, not yours.

I have a plan.

It's called run the fuck away from everything.

Seriously, the best weapon I currently have that isn't fucked is the Gargoyle Tail Axe, and I haven't used it in ages, or ever upgraded it.

I'm confident I can get back to the Shrine, then sprint through the Parish to Andre, then I'll farm the area for souls.

I know nothing about Sen's fortress, but I'm trying to keep ahead of the BonfireSide Chat Podcast so I can listen to them as they come out.

How do I beat Quelaag? I seem to be doing very little damage.

Oh. For some reason it didn't post my comment. Can't be bothered to type it all out again, so here's the reader's notes:

1) Go human, you will get invaded, then when you beat the invader you can summon her for the fight (plus actual human other players too)
2) Quelaag is probably weak against lightning (most bosses are) so use Gold Pine Resin if you have some
3) If in serious dire straights, you can farm for Green Blossom in Darkroot Garden, but don't go overboard because it's not really necessary, tedious, and also you will be able to buy as much green blossom as you want very soon.
